The Mont Saint Michel
Mont Saint Michel

The Mont Saint-Michel is one of the most important religious monuments of the European Middle Ages.

This Benedictine-Abbey has been built in devotion to the archangel St.Michel, on a 80 meter high granite rock, which is encircled by the sea (or by the sands of the bay, when the tide is at the ebb). The construction lasted 700 years, from the 10 th to the 16 th century.

As it is an extremely touristic place all over the year, we recommend to visit this magical site early in the morning or in the evening, in order to avoid the major visiting-hours.
