Former fishing harbour on the west-side of the bay of Mont Saint Michel.
Today seaside resort and known for its Oyster beds, which are visible twice per day, when the tide is low.
There is the upper town with market-place, church and shops and a lower town (La Houle), the long-stretched harbour with numerous seafood restaurants.
It is possible to make excursions on the local type of sailers, the elegant "bisquines".
