Staying at a Bed and Breakfast in Brittany
holiday accomodations with character and charm

For many holidaymakers, H0tel Accommodation is the natural choice.
A safe environment with no unpleasant surprises! You are unlikely
to meet a Basil Fawlty and on the whole, you will be in familiar
surroundings. Known standards of comfort and food, rated by the
Guides and the Tourist Board. No unpleasant surprises!

It is, however, not an option that will show you the "real" country.
Thousands of B & B providers around France will give you another
type of welcome, a warm individual one, distinctly different from each
other.

Find your ideal B & B in a lovely countryside or village, in a hamlet or
in a château - there will always be comfortable and clean rooms and a
quality breakfast including local or regional specialities -
all that for a very reasonable price.

In a bed and breakfast the guest is received like a friend, and everything
will be done to make his stay interesting and unforgettable.
Profit from your B & B owners's knowledge about the region : the nice
places to visit, the local traditions and uses, the typical meals to
eat or the local products to buy.

Especially around St Malo, B and B accommodation has be-
come an interesting alternative. The presence of numerous well
conserved historic buildings like castles, manors and farms and the
beauty of the region has given to many of their owners the idea to
transform a part of their charming home into an inn.

The feeling staying there is definitively not the same as in
a modern construction. One is captured by the charm of history :
you may find for example many generations old furniture, rooms that are
individually and tastefully decorated, in a style fitting with the type
of the building. The often thick walls (until 1 metre) made from natural stone,
taking notice of details, may tell us about one of their former owner's
faith, his sobriety or exuberance, or the use he made of the building.

For example a window at (first) floor level with a bottom stone very "used"
on its exterior side, shows that this "window" for centuries probably
had been used to enter sacks of cereals for inside storage.
